Ding Ren

Ding Ren is a Chinese-American photographer and writer who is currently based in Amsterdam (NL). Her work has been exhibited in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, the Philippines, China, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, the UK, and Poland. Ren is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor of Photography for University of Maryland, University College.

With a field-driven approach, Ren’s practice examines cross-cultural patterns at the junction between the foreign and the familiar. Instead of obvious patterns, she is interested in the ones that are subtle and nuanced—traces in the topography and geography.
